Scholarships.

Chelsea Piers Foundation is pleased to offer scholarships to young athletes and their families in partnership with Chelsea Piers in our Chelsea NYC and Stamford, CT locations.

The scholarship application and approval process aim to provide transparency, fairness, and accountability in awarding scholarships. Please read carefully as our application and enrollment process has been modified.

Scholarships submissions are closed for summer and fall 2024. Applications are currently only being accepted for Stamford, CT Volleyball and senior soccer competitive teams.


Scholarship Application & Approval FAQ

Applications

1.    Application Deadline: Applicants must submit their scholarship applications via the online portal by the specified deadline. Late submissions will not be considered.

 2.    Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria, which includes financial information, and number of dependents. Please use the two most recent years of tax returns. If applicable, we will review additional materials including proof of SNAP and/or Public Assistance where the applying parent/guardian and child’s names both appear.

3.    Application Form: Parents are required to complete a separate scholarship application form for each child. This form includes personal information, financial information, and supporting documents or statements, as requested.

 If you anticipate involvement in a camp, class, or competitive teams, please apply during the above timelines. If you are interested in joining a competitive team, please follow the same timelines, regardless of pending acceptance, try-outs, or participation eligibility.

 Applicants must submit their applications electronically via our online portal.  Incomplete applications will not be processed.

 Chelsea Piers Foundation accepts applications on a rolling basis and reserves the right to cap each season’s scholarships based on availability or until spots are filled. Apply early and on time to ensure consideration.

Award Notification

All applicants will be notified of the scholarship committee's decisions on the following dates, or by checking your application account portal. Successful applicants will receive notification of their award, and unsuccessful applicants will be informed of the decision on the following schedule:

Fall 2024, Winter 2024, Spring 2025 Classes & Competitive Teams
Applicants will be notified no later than August 21, 2024

Winter 2024 Volleyball and Senior Soccer - Stamford, CT
Applicants will be notified no later than December 10, 2024

Summer Camps
Applicants will be notified no later than May 1, 2025

 Scholarship recipients must acknowledge the acceptance of their award and follow necessary enrollment steps outlined in the confirmation letter. Failure to do so may result in the scholarship being awarded to an alternate applicant.

Chelse Piers cannot hold spots in classes without payment.  NO registrations will be taken without valid payment. If you cancel your child’s class, your portion of the scholarship payment will not be refunded or credited for any future class.

Scholarship recipients will be required to complete a post program survey, and future funds may be contingent on completing the requested information.


Restrictions

  • Scholarships are reserved for students aged 5-16 (5-18 for competitive teams), based on their age at the last eligible day to enroll.

  • Class scholarships are available one (1) per child per quarter or trimester, depending on location.

  • Chelsea Piers Foundation accepts applications on a rolling basis and reserves the right to cap each season’s scholarships based on availability or until spots are filled. Apply early and on time to ensure consideration.

  • Chelsea Piers Foundation reserves the right to cap the number of scholarships on each competitive team, as necessary.

  • Scholarships do NOT include transportation or after-care.

  • All camps, including Hockey, Skating, Gymnastics, Ninja, Soccer and Camp Chelsea, are limited to one week. For inquiries about Camp Chelsea in Connecticut, please email Rebecca Semenetz at ctscholarships@chelseapiersfoundation.org.

  • Scholarship offers may be rescinded at any time if students or families fail to meet the behavioral standards set by the Chelsea Piers staff, display poor attendance, or failure to make payment on time.  In addition, if these behavioral and attendance standards are not met, you will not be eligible for future scholarships.
